Silicon Fluids
Straight silicone fluid is the generic name for three main types of silicone fluids that are straight-chain polymers formed of siloxane bonds. These three are dimethyl silicone fluid, methylphenyl silicone fluid, and methyl hydrogen silicone fluid.
Coupling Agents
One of the most prolific applications of organosilicon compounds is their use as coupling agents.A coupling agent is defined as a compound which provides a chemical bond between two dissimilar materials, usually an inorganic and an organic. Organosilanes are well-suited in this application because of the ability to incorporate an organic-compatible functionality and an inorganic-compatible functionality within the same molecule.
Chemical Intermediates
In the chemical industry, the term intermediate refers to the (stable) product of a reaction that is itself valuable only as a precursor chemical for other industries.
